As most of you know, Andy and I have been volunteering for the Angel Kiss Foundation’s monthly kid’s club and my mom has recently joined us. Within the past couple months, Angel Kiss and Keaton Raphael Memorial have merged to become the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. At first we were worried that they wouldn’t do the kid’s club anymore, but it appears that everything is the same. This is great because I think the kid’s have a lot of fun. This month we had a Halloween party.

Andy and I weren’t sure what we wanted to dress up as and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, so we decided to go through my parent’s old costumes to see what we could find. I found a caveman costume which I altered a little to fit me better and got a necklace and a bone for a finishing touch. I didn’t really think about it at the time, but this generation of kids have never seen the Flintstones. They kept asking me what I was. One girl even asked if I was a cat. Pretty funny.

Andy, on the other hand, decided to be the classic superhero- superman. And of course every kid knows who that is. He looked pretty funny in his costume and the kids really liked it.

My mom dressed up as Elvira, but looked more like a witch. Andy’s favorite joke of the night was asking why my mom didn’t wear a costume.

We started off the night be eating pizza (generously donated by BJ’s) and carving pumpkins. Of course the kid I was helping chose the most difficult template, Frankenstein, and Andy’s kid chose the traditional happy face. We also made finger pens, wrapped each other as mummy’s and played lots of games. It was one of the best kid’s club’s yet!

After the kid’s club we went to get gas, super unleaded of course, and the kid in the car in front of us really got a kick out of Andy’s costume. “Superman!”
